Donna Summer Will be Joining the Rock Hall of Fame

summer_si_2222546b Donna Summer, the American singer songwriter responsible for the songs I Feel The Love and Love to Love You Baby will be posthumously inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in April 2013. Summer, who died earlier this year of lung cancer at the age of 63, achieved fame in the mid-Seventies. Her singles Hot Stuff, Bad Girls and No More Tears were all number one hits.
It was the sixth time she had been shortlisted, and this time she beat other musicians such as Kraftwerk and Deep Purple.
It’s a shame that this was posthumously but I suppose it’s better late then never.   I’m just surprise that someone who was so popular back in the 70s and seemed to have hit after hit would be denied 6 times.   There are so many weird punk bands in the hall of fame that somehow make and most of us have never heard of them.  Donna Summer was an obvious choice.   We congratulate her family on honor.
